Big televisions are quite nice, but are they really the same No, they are not and you need to know the difference. Flat screen TVs may all sound alike and the wording mistakenly interchanged, but they each have different technology behind their mechanics. A plasma and LCD are completely different than older round screen models. A big screen television resembles the older models rather than the new. They cost quite a lot and you do not want to make a mistake when you hand over your credit card.

The problem in the past was that not all flat screen televisions were better than their round screen cousins. The flat screen monitor for the computer was very popular and gave a high density resolution. That flat screen was applied to big screen televisions. There is a huge problem with those huge monstrosities. As the screen size was increased, color and resolution became distorted. Therefore, a person would have a giant picture, but the quality wasn't as good as that of small 27" televisions.

If you are browsing among the flat screen TVs, then you have to realize that not all flat screens are the same. There is a difference between a regular flat screen television and a plasma television. There is a difference between the plasma and the LCD. The plasma and LCD are often mistaken for the same thing, but the technology is vastly different. The picture quality of both is great and the extras often thrown in make the purchase well worth the money.

As with anything being too much, sometimes the prices for these televisions can be more than the average consumer wishes to spend. Flat screen televisions are quite expensive when compared to their cathode-ray cousins. Consumers are going to pay for that technology. A 52" HDTV plasma television from Samsung runs close to $8,000.00 and that may be more than you want to spend on a television.

Flat screen TVs are very nice. No one is disputing this fact, but it is up to each individual consumer to make that decision on whether or not the price is right for them. Sure too much television is a bad thing and if you are someone who does not watch television often, then the expensive TV may not be a wise choice. But for those who live their lives around the latest technological gadgets, a plasma or LCD television cannot be beat.
