Scams in Selling or Trading your WoW Account
Many players like to get a free or better account or to get a good amount of money for an old account they are done playing. However it is very likely that you will meet someone who isn't interested in paying you.
Besides risking being banned by Blizzard, there is the possibility of you being scammed by an Account Trader or Buyer who have no intention of giving you what you deserve for your account.
The scammers usually claim that they done playing the game or wanting a new challenge. They often come with promises of high level characters, lots of gold, and less work grinding to entice you to pass up your account. They are usually at websites where people attempt to buy, sell and trade accounts. They might have an account to give you with nothing in it, or they might simply send you an account with nothing in it at all, only a dead account.
In the end, they will take your money without sending their account or take your account without sending you the money. It's often backed up with a fake Ebay account and fake Paypal loyalty number to make you feel like you're in the clear. In the end, they've lied to you at every step and take your account before you can respond.
In order to avoid being scammed it is best not to sell or trade accounts. However, if you decide to take that risk, you should be aware of the steps these scammers take to get your trust and be able to see through their lies.
