Canvassing is a very important technique authors need to do to break the ice and encourage people to buy the book. A good presentation is essential for it makes the public nosy. Instilling a sense of curiosity is a very tough job, but pays off well.

It's not very difficult to convince the public if one is a good speaker, charismatic and has a good sense of humor. Relationship with the public is what kicks it off. Once interested, they won't only buy but will ask for an autograph.
