1. If you are building a list, you want a small free ebook that you can give to people who subscribe to your list. A small 10 to 15 page mini-ebook is ideal for this purpose. Just make sure you include valuable information inside. Your subscribers will judge your future products by what they see in the free ebook that you give them in the beginning.
2. Go viral. Give away a small mini ebook that contains numerous links to your website, squeeze page, and products that you endorse. A good viral ebook can bring you traffic (and increase your income) for years. Don't dismiss this option.
3. Sell mini-ebooks on your site. I sell a number of small 10 to 15 page mini ebooks. These items have the highest conversion rate of anything I sell. They convert at about 14%. When you consider that the average Internet ebook converts at about 1%, they are great sellers. I sell them all for less than $10 each so it is not my biggest profit center. But they bring in money each and every month with no additional work from me.
So if you are thinking about writing your first ebook, try writing a mini ebook or two. It could pay off big and be just the thing to prepare you to that write that 250 page mega hit that you've been thinking about.
